THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DAPHNE DU MAURIER (C Habib) jumped outwards and NETTA (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At approximately the 1300m, FRANKLIN (J Gates) and BOLD FORTUNE (C Murray) made contact with the inside running rail. Thereafter Jockey Murray felt something amiss with BOLD FORTUNE and eased this filly out of the race at the 800m.
In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine BOLD FORTUNE.
b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that LADY AMHERST made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) The saddle on DAPHNE DU MAURIER (C Habib) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board.
d) In the concluding stages, FORT ANNE (P Strydom) was brushed and carried out by NETTA (M Yeni) which shifted out away from the crop.
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by him lodging an Objection on behalf of the 2nd placed horse FORT ANNE (P Strydom) against the winner NETTA (M Yeni) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages of the race.
The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward during the Objection hearing, was of the opinion that the result had been affected by this incident and that FORT ANNE (P Strydom) would have finished ahead of NETTA (M Yeni) had this incident not occurred, and therefore, upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result.

e) Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of NETTA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FORT ANNE (P Strydom) when he shifted out in the concluding stages. Jockey Yeni signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of ten days.
Suspension dates to be advised.
f) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey P Strydom's (FORT ANNE) use of the crop in the concluding stages.
g) NETTA (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (LN).
h) SPARKLING GOLD (*P Mxoli), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Mahiakola advised (RS).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
None.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
