THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KWINTA'S LIGHT (R Khathi) was restless in the stalls, stook awkwardly and had to be corrected, causing a slight delay. b) BARZALONA (G van Niekerk) and HIGH HOSANNA (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RIO SUPREMO (W Kennedy) was hanging out late. b) Jockey A Domeyer (AFRICAN RAIN) dropped his crop at the 100m. c) Jockey G van Niekerk (BARZALONA) dropped his crop at the 50m. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KWINTA'S LIGHT (R Khathi), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) Jockey K de Melo, the rider of SHELDON, reported that this colt changed stride continually in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey G Cheyne, the rider of TREASURE HUNT, reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. g) AMBIORIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
