THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SING OUT LOUD (A Marcus) and KELPIE (K de Melo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) INDI ANNA (G Lerena) was unable to get cover and as a consequence over raced in the early and middle stages. b) THIRD RUNWAY (M Winnaar) pulled hard in the early stages and tired from the 150m. c) Jockey S Cele, the rider of HELEN'S IDEAL, reported that this mare did not stride out freely in the running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey L Ferraris, the rider of SILVANO'S PRIDE, reported that this mare changed stride continually in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. e) CAPTAIN'S RANSOM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
