THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, MAGIC CHOICE (L Hewitson) kicked the back gates resulting in BAT OUT OF HELL (C Maujean) breaking through the gates, being restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) During the loading process, MAGIC CHOICE (L Hewitson) kicked the back gates for a second time resulting in DALGETY BAY (P Strydom) breaking through the gates, dislodging the rider, bolting the course and subsequently being scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer F B Habib was advised to reschool DALGETY BAY prior to her next engagement (GT). c) CLOUDS UNLEASHED (J Greyling) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) LOVE IS LIVE (*N Klink) and MAGIC CHOICE (L Hewitson) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, CLOUDS UNLEASHED (J Greyling) was buffeted between PETUNIA (D Schwarz) and BAT OUT OF HELL (C Maujean), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. Thereafter, CLOUDS UNLEASHED (J Greyling) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. b) In view of the performance of MAGIC CHOICE (L Hewitson), (distance 8,75 lengths, betting 31/20), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) DUCHESS OF NOW (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A B Fortune advised (RS). d) BAT OUT OF HELL (C Maujean), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Machaelie, acting on behalf of Trainer D Sham, advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PETUNIA was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 30 January 2021 at 13H24). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CLOUDS UNLEASHED raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 25 January 2021 at 08H18) and with a compression mask (declared 26 January 2021 at 14H02). b) DUCHESS OF NOW raced with a compression mask (declared 28 January 2021 at 08H34). c) DIAMONDS N DOLLARS raced with a tongue tie on (declared 29 January 2021 at 14H29).
