THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RUBY SKY (D Dillon) was hanging in from the 500m. b) QUEEN DORA (*G Pieterse) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m. c) PRINCESS PHEE (*K Brewer) shifted both ways away from the crop, from the 300m. d) Jockey S Randolph reported that DEAR JULIETTE (14.70 lengths) made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey T Godden signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse AUSTEN more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey T Godden the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey T Godden struck the horse AUSTEN, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey T Godden used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. f) Trainer F Robinson was questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner, STAR CHOICE (*K Strydom) compared to this filly's previous performances. In this regard, he explained that today's drop in distance and the addition of blinkers to this filly's equipment had contributed to its improved performance. The Board noted the explanation of Trainer F Robinson and will monitor the performances of STAR CHOICE going forward. g) STAR CHOICE (*K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer F Robinson advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PRINCESS DONELLY raced with alumites (advised 31.01.21/07h02). b) STAR CHOICE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 31.01.21/07h33). c) CAPULET'S HEART raced equipped with blinkers (advised 31.01.21/07h56). d) QUEEN DORA was ridden by Apprentice G Pieterse (claiming 4kg) (advised 31.01.21/10h06) and this filly raced with a compression mask. e) DEAR JULIETTE raced with tongue tie (advised 27.01.21/12h55).
