THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ALADO'S PRIDE (S Moodley) was difficult to load.
b) SAINT PHILIP (*T Gumede) lost 1 difficult.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) RISE (*K Strydom) was hanging in between the 450m and the 300m.
b) At the 300m, whilst racing in close proximity, Jockey D Dillon (LONG REIGN) had his crop struck from his hand by Jockey S Moodley (ALADO'S PRIDE).
c) At the 200m, PROSPERO (J Samuel) shifted out to continue its run.
d) In the concluding stages, SMART SOX (G Wright), which was carried out by ALADO'S PRIDE (S Moodley) which rolled out, was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of DREAM DESTINY (*J Jacobs) which was hanging in from the 400m.
e) In view of the performances of POWER TO COMMAND (C Storey) (23.70 lengths) and VOICE OF REASON (R Danielson) (27.60 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) Jockey S Randolph (BHAKKA) briefly dropped his right side rein in the concluding stages.
g) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse ALADO'S PRIDE more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse ALADO'S PRIDE, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Moodley used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
h) BHAKKA (S Randolph), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D W Moore advised (TN).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) POWER TO COMMAND was ridden by Jockey C Storey (advised 31.01.21/09h36).
b) DINETTO raced without blinkers (advised 31.01.21/07h37).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :

a) POWER TO COMMAND : Speedy cut right hind.
b) VOICE OF REASON : Nothing obvious detected.
