THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) STEEL ALLOY dislodged Apprentice S Njokwe en route to the start. This gelding was subsequently taken in hand and passed fit to race. b) STEEL ALLOY (*S Njokwe) raced detached from the field throughout. In view of the performance of this gelding, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) THEYDON'TKNOWME (E Ngwane) was hanging in from the 300m. d) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with QUE ES VAR (13.20 lengths) in the running.
