THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FANTASY FLOWER (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of MACHALI (G Lerena) (betting 17/2, distance 20,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer C Dawson was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. b) Shortly after the start, Jockey J Gates was dislodged from SENECA FALLS. It appeared from the patrol films that his feet were not in the stirrup irons when the starting stall gates were released. Jockey Gates appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding this incident. He explained to the Board that he became unbalanced leaving the stalls and this resulted in him becoming dislodged. He was of the opinion that his feet were in the irons. The Stipendiary Board after reviewing the incident, was of the opinion that Jockey Gates' explanation was not corroborated by the patrol film and was issued a reprimand and reminded of his obligations as a professional rider, which includes that he is adequately prepared for the start once under starter's orders. c) ROCK YOU (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LEAGUE OF HER OWN raced unshod (declared 27 January 2021 at 07H27). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MACHALI examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) BITTER WIND cut into behind (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) TULIP WAY elevated temperature (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
