THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PORT ADELAIDE (AUS) (J Smitsdorff) jumped outwards and made contact with GEMINI GIRL (R Fourie). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE LEGENDARY LADY (S Cele), which pulled hard in the early stages and was hanging out from the 1300m, raced wide on the bend and into the straight. b) Jockey A Andrews, the rider of NORVALSPONT, reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey R Fourie, the rider of GEMINI GIRL, reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running and eased her out of the race from the 250m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) A MOMENT APART, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Miss L Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer GV Woodruff, was advised.
