THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREEN JACKET (G van Niekerk) was restless in the stalls, reared as the start was effected and jumped awkwardly, losing three lengths. b) SPEED MACHINE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to GREEN JACKET (G van Niekerk) in stall gate 5 and established that GREEN JACKET (G van Niekerk) had become restless in the stalls, reared as the start was effected and jumped very awkwardly, losing three lengths. The stewards were satisfied that GREEN JACKET (G van Niekerk) had not been impeded and declared it to be a runner. b) In view of the report from the starter regarding GREEN JACKET (G van Niekerk), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 07/02/2021 to 13/02/2021 inclusive). GREEN JACKET may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) SPEED MACHINE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
