THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WATERBERRY LANE (K de Melo) lost 3 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) CATCH THE TUNE (G Wright) lost 2 lengths. c) MEGAMASTER (C Storey) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) WATERBERRY LANE (K de Melo) raced detached from the field throughout. In view of the performance of this colt (22.15 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) ARNHEM LAND (S Moodley) raced greenly in the running. c) SILVERY BLUE (*G Pieterse) was hanging in from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, this filly shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Jockey C Storey reported that MEGAMASTER (45.35 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SPINA ZONKE (W Kennedy), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this colt is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
