THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING'S QUEST (A Domeyer) reared in the stalls, was taken out and reloaded, causing a further delay. b) FAMOUS AND RICH (O Noach) was restless in the stalls, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. c) FATHER CHRISTMAS (G Lerena) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) Shortly after the start, SHIFTING PATH (L Mxothwa) was brushed on the hindquarters by FATHER CHRISTMAS (G Lerena), which jumped outwards. c) Leaving the 1200m TRIPPI'S SILK (A Fortune) rolled in away from RHYDIAN (C Zackey) and brushed the inside running rail. d) PARATROOPER (S Veale) over raced in the early stages and, as a consequence, raced wide on the turn and into the straight. e) Jockey G Lerena reported that FATHER CHRISTMAS, which was hanging out from the 200m, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) At the 150m Jockey A Fortune (TRIPPI'S SILK) got his crop briefly entangled in his reins. g) Jockey C Zackey reported that RHYDIAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING'S QUEST (A Domeyer) and FAMOUS AND RICH (O Noach), Trainers C Bass-Robinson and GS Kotzen will be advised to have these geldings re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. i) BOOGIEFIED (AUS), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
