THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BITE MY LIP (G Behr) and PRETTY BABY (A Marcus) were restless in the stalls.
b) OUR WORLD (L Ferraris) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Approaching the 1100m GATE SIXTY NINE (L Mxothwa) was steadied off the heels of PRETTY BABY (A Marcus), shifted out and made contact with BITE MY LIP (G Behr).
b) OUR WORLD (L Ferraris) was unable to secure a clear run in the straight until approaching the 250m.
c) At the 500m REGARDS TO ALL (L Hewitson) was held up and had to be steadied when close to the heels of GATE SIXTY NINE (L Mxothwa). Thereafter REGARDS TO ALL (L Hewitson) was directed outwards to secure a narrow run on the outside of BITE MY LIP (G Behr) and made contact with GOLDEN DAH (C Zackey) which in turn made contact with TIME OFF (K de Melo). Jockey L Hewitson appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners when attempting to find clear running in similar circumstances.
d) GATE SIXTY NINE (L Mxothwa) and ADDERBURY LAKE (GB) brushed at the 400m.
e) At the 300m Jockey A Marcus, the rider of PRETTY BABY, which was hanging out, had difficulty changing his crop to his right hand.
f) In view of the performance of GATE SIXTY NINE (L Mxothwa) (Distance 12.45) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g) Jockey K de Melo, the rider of TIME OFF, reported that this filly changed stride continually in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine.
h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BITE MY LIP (G Behr), Trainer M Rix will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
i) In view of the report from the Starter regarding PRETTY BABY (A Marcus), Trainer JMT Stewart will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
j) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BITE MY LIP (G Behr), Trainer M Rix will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
k) FORGETFUL GIRL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Mqamelo, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised. (SC)
