THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GINGER JAMES (ZIM) (*T Baase) and FLUORESCENT (+S Siphika) were slow losing one length.
b) JUST AS RICH (+L Mafethe) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
c) MOUNTAIN ROCK (+K Hlakabe) and WISDEN (+C Mabaya) were stubborn loading.
d) DENNY (+I Lukhele) was stubborn loading, thereafter, stood losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to DENNY, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 19 February 2021 to 25 February 2021. DENNY may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer C J Maree advised (GT).
b) Workriders T Baase (GINGER JAMES (ZIM)) and I Lukhele (DENNY) reported that their respective mounts changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses.
c) Workrider G Lahoud was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse FREEZING FAST out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining third place. Workrider Lahoud signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in two Workrider races.
Suspension dates to be advised.
d) DEANAGELO (+J Arendse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Moffatt advised (LN).
e) WISDEN (+C Mabaya), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (AH).
