THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRE AND ICE (*X Jacobs) stood losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer B D Botes was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, BATTLEOFTRAFALGAR (M Yeni) was carried in by DOUBLE 'O' EIGHT (*C F Dicken), which hung in. Thereafter, DOUBLE 'O' EIGHT (*C F Dicken) and BATTLEOFTRAFALGAR (M Yeni) were carried out by CHIMICHURI RUN (G Lerena), which shifted out sharply and was immediately straightened. The Board was satisfied that this was a racing incident and could not apportion blame to any individual rider and therefore took no further action. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FIRE AND ICE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 21st February 2021 to 27th February 2021. FIRE AND ICE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B D Botes was advised. c) Jockey C Zackey reported he felt something amiss with MR FLOOD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) CHIMICHURI RUN (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) FIRE AND ICE raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 17 February 2021 at 09H01). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MR FLOOD blowing post race. b) OLD MAN TYME abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) EDEN ROC injured near fore (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
