THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, ARRAN (*P Mxoli) reared and kicked the back gates resulting in RAMCHANDANI ROAD (C Bantam) and LAGERTHA (C Murray) breaking through the front gates. RAMCHANDANI ROAD and LAGERTHA were restrained by their respective riders, returned to the start, checked by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) STORMY SEAS (R Simons) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 300m, ARRAN (*P Mxoli) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between IRON MIKE (*J Solomons) which hung out from the 400m and ICE EATER (*C F Dicken) which shifted in to avoid running onto the heels of LAGERTHA (C Murray). b) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that ARRAN changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) RAMCHANDANI ROAD (C Bantam) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. d) In the concluding stages, ICE EATER (*C F Dicken) and JAM FANCY (R Munger) came together and brushed. e) STORMY SEAS (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Botha advised (GF). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) RAMCHANDANI ROAD raced unshod (declared 19 February 2021 at 22H21). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) JAM FANCY speedy cut left hind. b) ARRAN examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
