THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATIONAL UNITY (R Danielson) stood losing 3 lengths and thereafter, was slow into stride. Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised to re-school this gelding. b) TORBEN SPIRIT (L Ferraris) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) NATIONAL UNITY (R Danielson) and TORBEN SPIRIT (L Ferraris) raced detached from the field in the early and middle stages. b) At the 1200m, COROMANDEL (A Marcus) elected to shift out of the running line, raced around the field and to the front at the 900m. c) The saddle on COROMANDEL (A Marcus) slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. d) At the 300m, SONJADOR's hind-quarter was brushed in by MR PIGALLE (D Dillon). As a consequence of this incident, SONJADOR (S Moodley) and MR PIGALLE (D Dillon) came together and bumped. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, MR PIGALLE (D Dillon) shifted in to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the heels of SONJADOR (S Moodley) which shifted out away from the crop. e) Jockey L Ferraris reported that TORBEN SPIRIT (20.75 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) COROMANDEL (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (TN). g) SONJADOR (S Moodley), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Ms C Roberts acting on behalf of Trainer M L Roberts advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) GOTITALL was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy. Reserve runner (advised 28.02.21/08h08). b) GUISEPPI'S SONG raced without a tongue tie (advised 28.02.21/08h34). c) TORBEN SPIRIT raced without a tongue tie and raced without blinkers (advised 27.02.21/09h12).
