THE STARTER REPORTED : a) CAPETOWN BEAUTY (W Agrella) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ROUTE SIXTY SIX (L Ferraris) raced wide into the first turn. Thereafter, this filly was hanging in from the 400m. b) DANSE MILORD (S Moodley) raced wide into the straight. c) BAY OF DREAMS (S Veale) was disappointed for a clear run between the 400m and 200m. d) Apprentice G Pieterse signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse BINGIN BEACH more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Apprentice G Pieterse the Board considered the number of times (13) Apprentice G Pieterse struck the horse BINGIN BEACH, the distance over which and manner in which, Apprentice G Pieterse used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. e) BINGIN BEACH (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
