THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROGER THE DODGER (J Sampson) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, PURE STATE (*J Solomons) which rolled out and ROGER THE DOGER (J Sampson) which hung in from the 300m, came together and bumped. b) Apprentice J Solomons reported that he felt something amiss with PURE STATE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) ZILLZAAL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ZILLZAAL raced equipped with blinkers and PURE STATE raced without a tongue tie (declared 4 March 2021 at 08H26). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PURE STATE left nostril bloody discharge. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
