THE STARTER REPORTED A) RAZOR RED refused to load and was withdrawn by the Starter. The starting stalls certificate for this colt is withdrawn. B) FIRST RAIN was nervous in the stalls and reared as the start was effected. C) SAFARI BLUE was slow into stride. D) JEAN PAUL and SENHOR DUKE were stubborn loading. E) VIC FALLS was stubborn loading and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) REDOUTE'S SECRET (T M Musekiwa) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer S B Kotzen was advised that should this colt behave similarly in future it may be suspended. B) Shortly after the start, SAFARI BLUE (S Naidoo) was bumped inwards by STORMING THROUGH (E Webber) which jumped inwards. C) The saddle on FIRST RAIN (G Cheyne) slipped sideways in the running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. D) VIC FALLS (*J Mphanya) was hanging in from the 400m. E) Jockey S Khathi reported that VALKYRIES SONG did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RAZOR RED (C Maujean), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 09 March 2021 to 15 March 2021 both days included. RAZOR RED may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee G Venter on behalf of Trainer T J Laing was advised. G) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning VALKYRIES SONG (S Khathi), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this colt is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for an indefinite period. In terms of Rule 49.7, a veterinary certificate for VALKYRIES SONG must be submitted to the Veterinary Department of the National Horseracing Authority, before it can be entered for a race. VALKYRIES SONG must also gallop for the NHRA veterinary department after which, if found fit to race, will be sent for specimen collection for analysis. Trainer S B Kotzen was advised. H) The winner VIC FALLS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen advised (LM).
