THE STARTER REPORTED A) DUKE OF CARDS kicked the back gate in the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. B) PARA HANDY was slow away and lost 5 lengths. The starting stall certificate for gelding is withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) HARLEQUIN JACK (K Steyn) over-raced in the early stages. B) PARA HANDY (*Y Ramzan) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. C) BEETHOVEN (C Maujean) was baulked for a clear run between the 400m to the 200m and thereafter had to switch out to continue its run. D) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PARA HANDY (*Y Ramzan), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 09 March 2021 to 15 March 2021 both days included. PARA HANDY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee G Venter on behalf of Trainer T J Laing was advised. E) In view of the performance of BROADSIDE (R Munger) (distance 4.00 - betting 57/20) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) In view of the performance of EXION (K Minnie) (distance 6.50 - betting 15/20) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) The winner SAILING LIZARD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM).
