THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE ESPRESSO (*J Jacobs) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Entering the straight, COOL RUNNINGS (K de Melo) was momentarily steadied off the heels of GENERAL FRANCO (A Marcus) which shifted out. b) GENERAL FRANCO (A Marcus) was hanging in from the 250m. c) DOUBLE ESPRESSO (*J Jacobs) briefly raced in restricted room near the 100m. d) DESOLATE ROAD (S Randolph) was baulked for a short distance near the 100m. Thereafter, as he reached the finish, Jockey S Randolph steadied DESOLATE ROAD when it improved to race in close proximity to the heels of MASHARI (W Kennedy). e) DI MAZZIO (J Sampson) jumped a reflection cast by the photo finish mirror shortly after the finish. f) In view of the performance of COLLABRO (*M Zuma) (10.65 lengths, 22/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) MASHARI (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
