THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZIMBABA (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FLORENTINE (C Murray) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ZIMBABA (G Lerena) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. b) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that LAETITIA'S ANGEL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse FLORENTINE more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,000-00 was imposed. d) CASTELLANO (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
