THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse ANATURA more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey C Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R2,500-00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (19), the manner and distance over which the crop was used and the fact that he won the race. b) ANATURA (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
