THE STARTER REPORTED A) TINTED VISION was injured in stalls and was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. B) POWER TO SURPRISE was slow away and lost 1 length. C) MOUNT GRACE was stubborn loading and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. D) TRILLIONAIRE was stubborn loading, reared as the start was effected and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) POWER TO SURPRISE (L Bester) raced detached from the field throughout. B) In view of the performance of PACIFIC DUKE (L Mxothwa) (distance 32.90 - betting 7/10) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) In view of the performance of INNERSPACE (M V'Rensburg) (distance 14.90 - betting 11/4) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused the crop by striking the horse MOUNT GRACE more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R750 fine was imposed. E) Trainer M L Tuner signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate the horse MOUNT GRACE against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed. F) Trainer M L Turner appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of WYLIE'S TRACTOR (G Cheyne). She explained to the Board that WYLIE'S TRACTOR prefers the Poly track and races over a longer distance. She undertook to race this colt on the same surface and over similar distances when possible in future. The Board noted her explanation. G) The winner WYLIE'S TRACTOR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer M L Turner advised (LM). H) The second placed horse HIGHWAY STAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) TRILLIONAIRE raced equipped with a compression mask (10:57 - 08/03/2021). B) ANIMUS raced equipped with blinkers (11:46 - 11/03/2021 THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) PACIFIC DUKE nothing obvious detected. B) INNERSPACE not striding out right fore. C) TINTED VISION stalls injury, scratched.
