THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PICTURE THE MOMENT (A Marcus) and MISTER MAINSTAY (R Khathi) were restless in the pens. b) GLOBAL TIGER (X Carstens) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. c) WEST COAST PIRATE (AUS) (G van Niekerk) and HAMLET (O Noach) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Due to a technical issue, there was no live feed to the Boardroom, causing a slight delay. b) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that WEST COAST PIRATE (AUS), which was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of MISTER MAINSTAY (R Khathi) at the 300m, took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of GLOBAL TIGER (X Carstens), which raced green and gave ground to the field from the 600m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey R Khathi, the rider of MISTER MAINSTAY, reported that this gelding coughed at the pull up. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) FUTURA'S HOPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (CvA) f) PICTURE THE MOMENT, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
