THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BERNIE (G Cheyne) jumped awkwardly inwards, making contact with HIS CHOICE (G van Niekerk) which jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The back gate of stall 6 was damaged in Race 1 and was not used for this race. In terms of Rule 61.6.12.1 ALL LIT UP (O Noach) and PHOTOCOPY (K de Melo) were loaded into the next available stall. b) Jockey G Cheyne (BERNIE) briefly dropped his right side rein at the 250m. c) In view of the performance of JOSEPH BARRY (A Marcus) (Betting 18/10 : Distance 6.95) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) JOSEPH BARRY (A Marcus) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
