THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS OF WINTER (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the report from the Starter regarding PRINCESS OF WINTER (K de Melo), Trainer GW Ennion will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) Jockey A Marcus was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking GOLDEN DAH more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey A Marcus signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the number of strikes over the permissible level (13) and the manner in which he used his crop. c) GOLDEN DAH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
