THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BAYMAX (W Kennedy) and MIDNIGHT CALLER (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HAVE A GO JO (L J Ferraris), PAMUSHANA'S PRIDE (S Khumalo), BOLD RESOLVE (C Zackey) and USHUAIA (C Maujean) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 200m, THE KOP (R Munger) and BOLD RESOLVE (C Zackey) were carried in by USHUAIA (C Maujean), which shifted in to avoid running onto the heels of PASSING STORM (M van Rensburg), which had come to the end of its run. b) Jockey W Kennedy was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse BAYMAX more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey W Kennedy signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,500-00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (15) and Jockey W Kennedy's record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. c) PAMUSHANA'S PRIDE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MIDNIGHT CALLER: Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 54,4kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) EARL raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 March 2021 at 07H44). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) USHUAIA delayed recovery post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
