THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INTERCITY (*X Jacobs), VENUS FLYTRAP (J Gates) and WHITE SHADOW (*C F Dicken) were slow losing one length. b) DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1300m, VENUS FLYTRAP (J Gates) which was encouraged forward, was switched out to improve position and as a consequence, raced wide around the turn and into the straight. b) Leaving the 700m, Apprentice X Jacobs was dislodged from INTERCITY when he lost the footing to his left-side stirrup iron. Apprentice Jacobs was taken to the Medical Centre for examination, this precluded him from weighing in. The Board acting in terms of Rule 66.2 deemed his weight to be correct. A member of the Stipendiary Board examined Apprentice Jacobs' equipment and found it to be in good working order. c) ARIZONA LADY (S Khumalo) hung out from the 200m. d) Apprentice C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with WHITE SHADOW in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CRUSADE TO ROYALTY was ridden by Jockey R Simons (declared 15 March 2021 at 09H59). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) VENUS FLYTRAP raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 10 March 2021 at 14H18). b) WHITE SHADOW raced unshod (declared 10 March 2021 at 14H18). c) LAKOTA raced equipped with alumites (declared 9 March 2021 at 07H04). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WHITE SHADOW blowing post race, saddle rub left and right sides. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
