THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOPHIA'S FIRST (S Khumalo) was restless in the stalls. b) ROCKPAPERSCISSORS (J Greyling) reared in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. c) ROYAL SIEGE (C Zackey) and BREAK FREE (*J Solomons) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 2000m, CONFESSOR (M Yeni) had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of TOOCOOLFORSCHOOL (J Gates) which ducked out sharply. b) SOPHIA'S FIRST (S Khumalo) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. c) BREAK FREE (*J Solomons) hung out from the 300m. d) Jockey L J Ferraris was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SITTING BULL more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Ferraris signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R750. e) ROCKPAPERSCISSORS (J Greyling), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ROCKPAPERSCISSORS raced with a pressure halter on (declared 15 March 2021 at 16H00). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
