THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOUVAIN (J Sampson) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THANDEKHILE (R Munger) hung in from the 300m. b) Jockey B Nyawo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking GOLDEN SPIRAL more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Nyawo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R750 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (13) the crop was used. c) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LYRICAL DANCE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (14) the crop was used and Jockey Murray's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. d) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking UN DEUX TROIS more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R2500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times (16) the crop was used and the fact that Jockey Khumalo won the race. e) UN DEUX TROIS (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
