THE STARTER REPORTED
A) SOUND CHECK was stubborn loading and slow into stride.
B) EUROPEANA was slow into stride.
C) POT SOX kicked the back gate in the stalls and was injured. This filly was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
D) GRACE LIGHTNING was unruly at the start, refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. The starting stalls certificate for this filly is withdrawn.
E) OLD GLORY was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) DERICHO (K Minnie) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m.
B) Jockey G Cheyne reported that OLD GLORY made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GRACE LIGHTNING (W Kennedy), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 20 March 2021 to 26 March 2021 both days included. GRACE LIGHTNING may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
D) The winner SOUND CHECK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
