THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GILDA GRAY (*J Solomons), KWAZZI'S LADY (S Khumalo), RAY INDIGO (*C F Dicken) and SPLASH OF GREEN (W Marwing) were slow losing one length.
b) I AM ROYAL (B Nyawo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) SAFFRON RAIN (C Zackey) was unruly in stalls injuring herself. This filly was scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. The Starting Stall Certificate for SAFFRON RAIN has been withdrawn.
d) GIFTED GAL (G Lerena) reared in the stalls and kicked the back gates. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer D J Nieuwenhuizen was advised to re-school GIFTED GAL prior to her next engagement.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SAFFRON RAIN, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 21 March 2021 to 27 March 2021. SAFFRON RAIN may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer H van der Westhuizen acting on behalf of Trainer P P Labuschagne advised (GT).
b) KWAZZI'S LADY (S Khumalo) raced green.
c) Approaching the 200m, HOLLYWOODBOUND (R Simons) was brushed in by FREED FROM DESIRE (W Kennedy) which switched in off the heels of GIFTED GAL (G Lerena) to continue its run. Thereafter shortly before the finish line, HOLLYWOODBOUND (R Simons) was carried in marginally by FREED FROM DESIRE which commenced to hang in in the concluding stages..
d) GIFTED GAL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee N Radford advised (LN).
