THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVER SLIPPERS (R Khathi) was resaddled at the start. b) SYDNEY SLICKER (G Behr) jumped awkwardly, was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) SILVER SLIPPERS (R Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on SILVER SLIPPERS (R Khathi) slipped forward during the canter past, resulting in Jockey Khathi having limited control over the filly and electing to dismount and lead her to the start. As a consequence, SILVER SLIPPERS (R Khathi) arrived late, causing a delay. b) KAREN BLIXEN (A Andrews), which raced green on the bend, shifted in away from the crop at the 150m and brushed ZACPACK ASSASSIN (L Mxothwa). c) Jockey K de Melo reported that DUNNEBALL, which gave ground to the field from the 800m and finished tailed off, did not stride out freely in the running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) MASKED VIGILANTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
