THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JANE BOND (*S Njokwe) reared and was fractious in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) JALALABAD (C Habib) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JALALABAD (C Habib) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, this filly compounded in the straight. b) INDOMAVEL (A Arries) shifted out away from the crop between the 250m and the 150m. c) MIGHTY TRINNI (R Danielson) was hanging out from the 300m. d) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with JALALABAD (31.50 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning JALALABAD and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer N I van Wyk was advised. (Suspension Dates : 25.03.21 - 23.05.21, bdi) f) Trainer A Nassif will be questioned regarding the apparently poor performance of SUNTRAX on 04 March 2021. g) SUNTRAX (*K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Peter acting on behalf of Trainer A Nassif advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) JANE BOND raced unshod (advised 12.03.21/10h48). b) JALALABAD raced equipped with blinkers (advised 18.03.21/08h08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) JALALABAD : Bi-lateral epistaxis. Confirmed 60 days suspension. SCRATCHINGS : a) JANE BOND : Injured in the stalls. Withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 15h27 and the betting was 66/1. Rule 53.5 applies. Suitable for re-instatement.
