THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SHIKURU (L Hewitson) was restless in the stalls.
b) APPLE DROP (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) DIAMOND STAR (C Storey) was slow into stride.
d) MARIPOSA (M van Rensburg) was slow losing one length.
e) ICE DANCER (C Maujean) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer H E Adamson was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT).
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) APPLE DROP (M Yeni), which jumped out, and SPANISH SONG (R Munger), which jumped in, came together and bumped.
b) ANCESTRAL PRAYER (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m.
c) Jockey L J Ferraris reported that he felt something amiss with JUST JUDY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) Jockey L Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with SHIKURU in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) DEVILISH DANCER (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (GF).
Trainer S J Gray appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of DEVILISH DANCER. In this regard, he was unable to provide any suitable explanation. Trainer S J Gray's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running and he was advised that should this filly not maintain consistent form going forward, it may be suspended.
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) DIAMOND STAR was ridden by Jockey C Storey (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H13).
b) DEVILISH DANCER was ridden by Jockey R Simons (declared 25 March 2021 at 12H19).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) EAGLETTE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 17 March 2021 at 08H58).
b) APPLE DROP raced with a tongue tie on (declared 21 March 2021 at 10H18).
c) ICE DANCER raced equipped with blinkers and with a tongue tie on (declared 24 March 2021 at 10H11).
d) DEVILISH DANCER raced without blinkers (declared 24 March 2021 at 10H39).
e) LUCY BELLE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H05).
f) MANDHUKAI raced with a compression mask (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H07).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) JUST JUDY not striding out behind.
b) MARIPOSA cut right corner of the mouth.
c) SHIKURU examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
d) SPANISH SONG mild post race distress.
e) VELVET JET abnormal respiratory noise.
SCRATCHED:
a) FLUORESCENT and UNDERTHERADAR reserve runners. Advised 25 March 2021 at 08H16.
