THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DARK VISION (*J Solomons) and FOREST PHOENIX (*C F Dicken) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 900m, PRINCE ALF (G Lerena) and LIGHT WARRIOR (S Khumalo) were bumped and squeezed out when awkwardly placed on the inside of PURPLE DOMINANCE (W Kennedy), which was carried in marginally by FREEZING FAST (M van Rensburg), which rolled inwards. The Board, after reviewing this incident, was of the opinion that no blame could be apportioned to any individual rider and deemed this to be a racing incident. b) Apprentice J Solomons, the rider of DARK VISION, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m c) PASSING SHOT (R Munger) hung in from the 200m. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that RICCARDO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) DARK VISION (*J Solomons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Nako, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, advised (GF). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KASAI VELVET was ridden by Apprentice K Matsunyane (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H03). b) PURPLE DOMINANCE was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H55). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RICCARDO lame right hind. b) PURPLE DOMINANCE abnormal respiratory noise. c) FOREST PHOENIX knocked into right hind pastern; blood in the mouth. d) KASAI VELVET knocked into left hind coronary band. SCRATCHED: a) WEST COAST LOVER insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) SIERRADELTASIERRA overreached left front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
