THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL (L Hewitson) broke through the front gate, dislodging the Rider and bolting the course. This resulted in MONEY FIGHTER (C Zackey) breaking through the gate, dislodging the Rider and bolting the course. The starting stall certificate for UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer T Nako, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised (GT). b) VALETORIO (L J Ferraris) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FROMHERETOETERNITY (W Kennedy) hung out from the 400m. b) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that GODSWOOD was coughing post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 26th March 2021 to the 1st April 2021. UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer T Nako, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry was advised, d) In view of the performance of GEMCUTTER (*K Matsunyane), (distance 7,85 lengths, betting 21/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report, GEMCUTTER is indefinitely suspended in terms of Rule 93.1. Veterinary report required prior to entry. GEMCUTTER is also required to gallop for the NHA veterinary department on a race day, after which, if found sound, will be sent for specimen collection for analysis. f) COUNTRY SQUIRE (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey M van Rensburg advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL raced with a compression mask (declared 25 March 2021 at 08H19). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GODSWOOD examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) GEMCUTTER lame right front and abnormal respiratory noise. Recommended indefinite suspension in terms of Rule 93.1. Trainer P F Matchett advised (KS). SCRATCHED: a) STORMY SEAS lame behind (NHA / 15H57). Rule 53.5 applies. b) UPCLOSEANDPERSONAL bolted the course (NHA / 16H04). Immediate reinstatement. c) MONEY FIGHTER bolted the course (NHA / 16H04). Immediate reinstatement. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
