THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ON THE ROAD AGAIN (A Andrews) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
b) BACK TO YOU (L Mxothwa) jumped outwards and carried VIDA FUTURA (C Zackey) outwards.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) ALL SWAGGER (G Cheyne) took an awkward stride shortly after the start.
b) VIDA FUTURA (C Zackey) raced wide on the bend.
c) At the 350m, GOLDEN VISION (L Tarentaal) was directed to the outside of ALL SWAGGER (G Cheyne) to secure a clear run.
d) At the 250m, ALL SWAGGER (G Cheyne) had to be steadied and shifted inwards to avoid the heels of TEMPLE BAR (M Winnaar) which was carried out by ON THE ROAD AGAIN (A Andrews) which shifted out. As a consequence, GOLDEN VISION (L Tarentaal), which had been shifted to the inside of ALL SWAGGER (G Cheyne), was carried inwards.
e) Approaching the 100m, AUGUSTA GREEN (K de Melo) was momentarily inconvenienced between ELECTRIC WARRIOR (L Hewitson) and VIDA FUTURA (C Zackey), which was hanging in, shifted in slightly and was immediately straightened.
f) Leaving the 50m ELECTRIC WARRIOR (L Hewitson) had to steady when tightened for galloping room between VIDA FUTURA (C Zackey) and YOU KNOW WHO (R Fourie) which shifted out away from TEMPLE BAR (M Winnaar), which was carried out by ON THE ROAD AGAIN (A Andrews) which continued to shift out.
g) Jockey A Andrews was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of ON THE ROAD AGAIN he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his outside from the 250m. Jockey Andrews signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 04/04/2021 to 10/04/2021 inclusive)
g) ON THE ROAD AGAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (MB)
