THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SO FLAWLESS (G van Niekerk) and KUNMING (K de Melo) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m HALLOWEEN (G Cheyne) shifted in and brushed HELEN'S BLUSH (C Zackey) on two occasions when Jockey Cheyne briefly dropped his right-side rein. As a consequence, HELEN'S BLUSH (C Zackey) became unbalanced, commenced to hang out and shifted out slightly in the concluding stages, resulting in HALLOWEEN (G Cheyne) having to be checked away from the heels of HELEN'S BLUSH (C Zackey) at the finish. b) Jockey L Tarentaal was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on FLASH FIRE. Jockey Tarentaal signed an admission of guilt and was issued with the penalty of a warning. c) SO FLAWLESS, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
