THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MS FLOWER POWER (L J Ferraris) stumbled shortly after the start. b) OCEANS PRIDE (Wes Marwing) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) AMBERGLO STAR (G Lerena) hung in from the 200m. b) Jockey L J Ferraris reported that he felt something amiss with MS FLOWER POWER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MS FLOWER POWER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D N Stenger was advised. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with WOMAN OF GRACE in running and did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that EXPRESS BAYOU made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SOUTHERN SONG (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (RS).
