THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARMYNE (+C Mabaya) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) GOLD STORM (+J Gwingwizha), ONLY HIM (+S Myendeki) and SITTING BULL (+T Mango) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) ROYAL WEDDING (+L Haruzivi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FLEETLINE BOY (+S Mosia) and ONLY HIM (+S Myendeki) were awkwardly placed between CARMYNE (+C Mabaya), which jumped inwards, and SITTING BULL (+T Mango), which jumped outwards. b) FLEETLINE BOY (+S Mosia) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 500m c) DIAMOND SHINE (+C Simpson) and ROYAL WEDDING (+L Haruzivi) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. d) In view of the performance of NUSSPLY (+T Matsoele), (distance 4,00 lengths, betting 2/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding e) Work Rider S Myendeki was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse ONLY HIM more than 12 times in the entire race. Work Rider S Myendeki signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in two (2) work riders' races (Dates of suspension: To be Advised). When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (24), the distance over which and the manner in which Work Rider S Myendeki used his crop. Work Rider S Myendeki was warned that this type of crop use was unacceptable. Furthermore, the Board have recommended to Mr C J Maree, who oversees the Workriders, that Work Rider S Myendeki attend a refresher course at the Thoroughbred Development Trust as his standard of ride was unacceptable. f) SITTING BULL (+T Mango), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (GF). g) NUSSPLY (+T Matsoele), placed sixth, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (AH). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) STAR EFFECT: Work Rider T Basse weighed out at 60,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) CAPTAIN CUPID: Work Rider T Ncume weighed out at 60,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KISSED BY FIRE raced with a compression mask (declared 25 March 2021 at 13H54). b) STAR EFFECT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 31 March 2021 at 08H51). c) THE LIP raced equipped with ear muffs and with a compression mask (declared 1 April 2021 at 07H42).
