THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MACH FOUR (R Fourie) reared in the stalls, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer S J Snaith will be advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1300m, SPIRIT OF MY FATE (S Veale) and ADMIRAL'S GUEST (*K Strydom) had to ease when awkwardly placed between GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (W Kennedy) which rolled out marginally and CAVALIERI (N Patel) which shifted in. b) CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs) over-raced in the early stages. c) GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early and middle stages. d) LORD WYLIE (S Khumalo) raced wide in the early and middle stages. e) Between the 800m and the 600m, OOH LA LA (C Storey) and SPIRIT OF MY FATE (S Veale) came together and bumped on at least 2 occasions. f) Apprentice J Jacobs (CHATTERTONS KEEPER) dropped his right side rein at the 300m which he regained at the 250m. g) GO MAN GO (R Munger) was switched out to obtain a clear run at the 300m. h) In view of the performance of MACH FOUR (12.00 lengths, 18/10 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer M Trott acting on behalf of Trainer S J Snaith was advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. i) GENTLEMAN'S WAY (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D S Bosch advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) KAVIAN'S CARA was ridden by Jockey L Hewitson (advised 05.04.21/08h18). b) TOLTEC raced without blinkers and with a compression mask (advised 05.04.21/08h14). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) MACH FOUR : Nothing obvious detected. b) ADMIRAL'S GUEST : Speedy cut left front.
