THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL VIEW (S Randolph) was stubborn to load. Trainer W Whitehead was advised to re-school this filly. b) DUCHESSOFCORNWALL (N Patel) kicked the back gates continuously, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. Thereafter, this filly was slow into stride. c) GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*T Gumede) was restless in the stalls. d) SOMEONE EXCITING (A Marcus) was restless in the stalls and was slow into stride. e) STAR CHOICE (T Godden) and HER ROYAL MAJESTY (B Jacobson) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 800m, GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*T Gumede) and ROYAL VIEW (S Randolph) were cramped on the inside running rail by DUCHESSOFCORNWALL (N Patel) which shifted in. Jockey N Patel appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. b) SOMEONE EXCITING (A Marcus) was switched in to continue its run in the concluding stages. c) SOIREE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
