THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS (J Sampson) jumped inwards and ULLA (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 800m GLOWTORIA (W Kennedy) and ULLA (M van Rensburg) came together and brushed for a number of strides. b) In view of the performance of MAY QUEEN (P Strydom), (betting 31/20, distance 6,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer H E Adamson was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. c) Jockey J Sampson reported that he felt something amiss with IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) GLOWTORIA (W Kennedy) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. e) HERSTEL (L J Ferraris), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
