THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DAWN OF A NEW ERA (G Lerena) was slow into stride. b) DARK VISION (*J Solomons) and MISS KHALIFA (C Maujean) were slow losing one length. c) INFORMATIVE (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey L J Ferraris reported that SPEECHMAKER did not act in the soft going. b) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with MISS KHALIFA in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 500m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that SOUL OF WIT took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) GOLDEN SPOON (W Marwing) hung out and MIDNIGHT BADGER (W Kennedy) hung in from the 400m. e) DARK VISION (*J Solomons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
