THE STARTER REPORTED A) BIG SPLASH was stubborn loading. B) JACKSWAY was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 1 length. C) LINGUEE refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding is withdrawn. D) BIG IN TEXAS and REBELS REWARD were slow away and lost 1 length respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Shortly after the start, JACKSWAY (S Khathi) was bumped out by BIG SPLASH (L Hewitson) which jumped outwards. B) Shortly after the start, EMERALD FLOE (C Maujean) which jumped outwards and AL QAASIM (R Fourie) which jumped inwards came together and bumped. C) Jockey R Fourie reported that AL QAASIM made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) Jockey G Cheyne reported that he felt something amiss with DEMONTE in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) Jockey S Khathi reported that JACKSWAY took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LINGUEE (W Kennedy), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 10 April 2021 to 16 April 2021 both days included. LINGUEE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. G) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning DEMONTE (G Cheyne), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for an indefinite period. In terms of Rule 49.7, a veterinary certificate for DEMONTE must be submitted to the Veterinary Department of the National Horseracing Authority, before it can be entered for a race. DEMONTE must also gallop for the NHRA veterinary department after which, if found fit to race, will be sent for specimen collection for analysis. Trainer A C Greeff was advised. H) The winner EMERALD FLOE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (LM). I) The second placed horse AL QAASIM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM). C) REBELS REWARD raced without a tongue tie (14:19 - 08/04/2021). D) LINGUEE raced equipped with a compression mask (08:49 - 09/04/2021).
