THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DESTINYS GAME (W Kennedy) jumped awkwardly losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After a tardy beginning, DESTINYS GAME (W Kennedy) was encouraged forward and commenced to over-race when it proved difficult to settle. b) FORT ANNE (R Munger) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with SHIVERS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) FORT ANNE (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H E Adamson advised (MS). Jockey R Munger was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking FORT ANNE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Munger signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of strikes (14) and the fact that Jockey Munger won the race. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SHIVERS lame left front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
