THE STARTER REPORTED A) AMERICAN SILK was stubborn loading. B) SOUTH SANDWICH was stubborn loading and kicked the back gate in the stalls. C) ADMIRAL'S SHINE and WHATEVER NEXT were slow into stride. D) FLOWER SELLER was nervous, unruly and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. E) JET BOMBER was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) AMERICAN SILK (L Mxothwa) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer D A McKenzie on behalf of Trainer S B Kotzen was advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended. B) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that ADMIRAL'S SHINE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) The winner WHATEVER NEXT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana acting on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) GRACE LIGHTNING raced equipped with a compression mask (08:54 - 12/04/2021). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) ADMIRAL'S SHINE abnormal respiratory noise, cut into right hind (heel bulb lateral) and fatigue.
